Of Hats

This morning, it being a very chilly fall morning, I decided to wear my black pageboy hat while running errands in town. It's quite warm and I love the hat but rarely wear it, formerly convinced I do not look good in hats.

I was in Wal-Mart's auto parts department, browsing the [meager] selection of window washer fluid, when I caught a sudden movement out of the corner of my eye. It was a Wal-Mart employee coming toward me at a brisk trot. Thinking he meant to ask if I needed any help, I turned slightly to face him, amazed that a Wal-Mart employee was so anxious to help a customer. The middle aged man, also wearing a hat, proceeded to ask something which I did not expect:

"Do you accept compliments from strangers?"

"Sure," I replied, surprised and curious.

"You wear your hat very well," he said with a smile and a slight bow.

I laughingly thanked him and he returned to his place behind the auto parts desk. I continued shopping, but with a happy spring in my step knowing I don't look so bad in hats after all. :)

Well, we want to see a picture of you and your hat. If it's the same one you used to have, I always liked it!!
